Looking for a career change or already made your decision that teaching is right for you?

The programme also includes a Teacher Experience Programme for undergraduates, graduates and career-changers. This will give you the opportunity to gain up to five days’ practical experience in a school matched to your phase and subject interest in Fenland and East Cambridgeshire.

Placements will take place in schools which showcase strong teaching. You will have the opportunity to experience a real-school environment, ask questions of teachers and understand what it is to teach day-to-day.

This hands-on experience could also be used in a future application to help you demonstrate a more in-depth knowledge of the profession when applying to initial teacher training courses. The connections built during your experience in local schools will be invaluable when you come to build your future teaching career.
