 We are seeking to appoint two teachers (one for KS1 and one for KS2) to join our school. These would initially be temporary contracts of up to a year to cover two maternity leaves. However, other job opportunities may well be available at the end of these contracts.

        JOB PURPOSE

        To be part of an effective childcare team delivering a high quality, flexible childcare service that meets the needs of the children and their families. To help provide a safe, stimulating environment for the children, with creative and appropriate play opportunities.

        MAIN DUTIES

        To promote good practice in a professional and inclusive manner.

        To promote inclusive attitudes and practices.

        To promote the organisation’s Equal Opportunities policies.

        To understand, work within and promote the club’s policies and procedures.

        To have an understanding of the Statutory Welfare Requirements and the ability to meet them.

        To advise the Manager of any concerns with regard to children, child protection, parents/carers or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.

        To undertake observation, assessment and record keeping as required.

        To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff which is acquired as part of the job.

        To have due regard to the provisions of Health & Safety at Work legislation, as detailed in the Health and Safety policy.

        To be involved in safe and stimulating childcare including collection of children from school and the safe delivery of children to parents/named carers.

        To administer first aid as appropriate and keep accident report sheets. To ensure first aid skills are updated as necessary.

        To support children’s participation.

        To be involved in play programmes to provide safe, creative, appropriate play activities, whilst having regard to the Early Years Foundation Stage and Play Principles.

        To assist in the provision of healthy food and refreshments.

        To set up activities for the daily programme.

        To clear up after activities making sure that materials and equipment are maintained and stored properly.

        To assist in the collection of the children from all schools.

        To act as a keyworker to a small group of children, making sure each child’s needs are met.

        To undertake such additional responsibilities as required, which are commensurate with the grade and responsibilities of the post and in accordance with the Club's business plan and objectives.

        EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

        Essential

        Enhanced DBS certificate

        First Aid qualification.

        Desirable

        Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.

        Current driving licence.

        EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

        Essential

        Health clearance for the role.

        A sound understanding of playwork.

        Working knowledge of the emotional, physical, psychological and educational development of children, in order to provide an environment in which the child’s full potential can be supported and in which parents/carers can be supported in their relationship with their children.
