Ely St Mary’s CofE Junior School

St Mary’s vision is to grow as a community that provides opportunities for all in an environment where everyone is valued, respected and challenged to be the best that they can be. A place where individuals are supported in their personal journey of learning, growth and development within a Christian ethos of nurture, encouragement and love.

As a 4-form entry, Church of England Junior School situated in the beautiful cathedral city of Ely, we offer:

• excellent team-work and support structures;
• vibrant, enthusiastic staff;
• a cross-curricular approach to learning;
• fabulous facilities and grounds, including: theatre, music room, sensory room, library, and established outdoor learning area;
• strong musical tradition;
• an ethos built on Christian beliefs;
• active governor and parent involvement.

Warm and welcoming, our fundamental aim is to deliver quality-first teaching and learning to each individual pupil, providing support and challenge as required, whilst aspiring to giving every child access to a fantastic range of opportunities and experiences, be these related to music, art, culture, drama, sport or the environment. To give you a flavour of St Mary’s enriched curriculum: our topic-linked trips and visits, which include residential opportunities, serve to bring pupil’s learning to life; our choir is renowned in the local community; and our sports teams compete with fervour against schools within the locality.

We are fortunate in having a wonderful team of teachers, support staff, and volunteers, as well as a committed Board of Governors, which supports the school in so many ways. Our parents engage with the school, attending school functions and events, and encouraging our children to do their very best.

Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in October 2017, we are fortunate in belonging to the Diocese of Ely Multi-Academy Trust, which makes us stronger on our journey to be ever better.
