Level 3 Nursery Practitioner Needed

We are looking to employ (ASAP) a full time, permanent Senior Nursery Practitioner with a Level 3 qualification to work in our well established Nursery.

(This post is throughout the year and not term time only).

Responsibilities include:

  • In the absence of the Room Leader or other nominated leader, to be responsible for the designated room management.


  • Assist in the establishing, maintaining and development of a safe, educational ‘Learning through Play’ environment to enable each child to extend his/her potential, through Early Years Foundation Stage Standards for Care & Education.


  • Assist in the planning and recording of activities/resources offered to each child, ensuring the learning curriculum for the foundation stage is taken into account, maintaining up to date records for designated key worker group.


  • Implement policies and practices concerning childcare, ensuring the individual needs of each child are met.


  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each child at all times, being aware of Health and Safety issues.


  • Liaise and communicate with parents, reporting on each child’s well-being and development, through observation.


  • Be very aware of each child’s needs and requirements within the designated area.


  • Assist with the training of placement students in childcare and education in their area.


  • Willing to attend all staff meetings and accept training opportunities offered.


  • Prepared to take on any relevant duties determined by the employer from time to time.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and delivery of ‘Every Child a Talker’ and ensuring all staff keep records up to date and ready for entry when requested by the Deputy Head.


Essential Skills


  • Must hold a level 3 qualification in childcare and be prepared to take on further training.


  • Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene.


  • Have a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.


  • At least 2 years’ Childcare experience essential.


  • Lead and manage a team effectively.


  • Knowledge of the OFSTED Standards.


  • Have a clear understanding of the statutory welfare requirements.


  • Enthusiasm, self-motivation and commitment combined with a real passion to provide outstanding childcare


  • Excellent communicator and team player


  • Ideally trained in Paediatric First Aid, Food Safety, Safeguarding/Child Protection, although training can be organised for the successful candidate.

Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced criminal records check (DBS) and full pre-employment checks, together with two references

Full Time Early Years and Childcare Providers

Level 3 Nursery Practitioner

Post:   Administrator/Finance


We are seeking to appoint a part time Administrator to undertake clerical duties in liaison with the Head of Nursery and Company Secretary.

The position reports to the Head of Nursery but has functional responsibility to the Company Secretary.

The person appointed will work 3 days per week on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The hours of work will be 8-4pm with one hour for lunch. This role is available with immediate effect for the successful candidate.

Export receipts from FS to Sage Financials

Match cash to fee invoices on Sage

Any other relevant duties determined by the employer from time to time

Weekly Duties

Reconcile bank

Reconcile Debtors on FS with Sage Debtors


As Required

Records Deposits Received/Repaid on Sage and FS

Add additional sessions requested by parents on FS

Process purchase invoices

Pay Suppliers

Add additional children starting in the Nursery



Process Fee invoices on FS

Email Invoices to Parents

Export newly created parent accounts during the month from FS to Sage

Export fee invoices to Sage

Process salaries input to salary bureau

Receive pension input from salary bureau and submit to pension provider by portal

Process Nursery Milk Claim

Prepare and send Invoices in respect of any additional funding requirements

Process Credit Card Transactions on Sage

Process Petty Cash

Chase overdue debtors


Per Term

Submit Initial Early Years Nursery Claim

Submit final Early Years Nursery Claim



Process movement of children between rooms on FS

Add new starters to FS

Update charging rates in FS


Skills Sought
