Job Title: Out of School Club Manager

Start date: Flexible. October/November 2018 to suit applicant

Location: KidZone out of school club, Sawtry Junior Academy, Sawtry, Cambs. PE28 5SH

HOURLY RATES: £9 - £11 per hour

Term Time - Up to 26 hours including some non contact time

Holiday Club – Up to 35/40 hours

KidZone is an Ofsted Outstanding out of school club provider.

The ideal candidate will work with children aged 4-11 years & lead a team of playworkers.

The working hours will be 7.30 am until 9.00 am & 3.00pm until 6.00pm, Monday-Friday, during School Term Time, and shifts between 7.30 am until 6.00pm as mutually agreed. The ideal candidate will cover the majority of the shifts.

Essential Requirements:

Excellent managerial, communication & organisational skills

Good social skills and an understanding of others, and therefore able to interact well with both children and parents, thus providing an excellent level of service.

Relevant childcare experience

Is able to monitor and evaluate the quality of the service, ensuring that safeguarding requirements and organisational procedures are followed.

Has a good understanding of equal opportunities and special educational needs

Be creative with good knowledge of a range of interesting, fun and challenging activities for children to participate in

Has a valid Paediatric First Aid or is willing to undertake qualification

Desirable Requirements:

Level 3 childcare qualification or relevant experience

Has relevant supervisory and management experience

Knowledge and understanding of the Welfare Requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensures that Safeguarding is a priority at all times

Leads and motivates a team of staff to deliver high quality play opportunities in a safe and caring environment that at times can also be challenging and stimulating

Encourage a positive and restorative approach regarding behaviour

Encourage independence and self-esteem

Talk to children about their concerns or worries

Deal with injuries and emergencies

Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals
