This programme is aimed at members of support staff working in a Cover Supervisor role, having had no formal teacher training. The programme is also suitable for Teaching Assistants interested in working as Cover Supervisors. The two-day course introduces teaching and learning and shows delegates how they can begin to improve outcomes for students in cover lessons. The sessions are also designed to provide participants with a ‘tool kit’ to assist when lessons are less positive.

Programme Structure 

The programmes comprises two targeted full-day sessions over a month. Both sessions will be delievered at Comberton Village College.

Each day includes a full lesson observation, with a participants having the opportunity to observe a lesson led by a classroom teacher, and where possible, another led by an experienced Cover Supervisor.
