A small school with big ambitions!
Alderman Payne Primary School is a vibrant school community in the heart of the Fens and a short drive from Peterborough. We are a very small village school with just under 100 children on roll. We have four mixed age classes and there is a family feel in the school. This has contributed to children's good behavior and there have been no exclusions at all for the last 8 years. Although we are in an economically deprived area, we have big ambitions for our children and our pupils in receipt of the pupil premium tend to make better progress when compared to the same children nationally.
Our last two OFSTED inspections have been "Good"
We believe strongly that we need to equip our children to be citizens of the wider world, so use the International Primary Curriculum as a basis for our projects. Have a look at our website www.aldermanpayne.co.uk at the children's pages. There you will see our yearbooks. These show all the interesting activities and events that we do in a year. This will really give you a flavor of the school.
In addition, the things that we feel make us stand out from other schools are;
Our beautiful library bus which we created; if children change their book after reading at home they can go down the bus slide as a reward!
Our school dogs who come in for dog walking club.
Like many schools we have supportive staff, parents and governors and lovely children. We are now looking to add to our team and would welcome visits to our school.
